I see You: The Uniqueness of WE
A Day-long Workshop for Couples
Saturday, Oct 24, 2020 @ 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EDT
“May you ever see the other as a stranger.”…is the spiritual necessity of not being fooled by familiarity. It is easy to assume you know all about a person, especially someone with whom you share a daily life---the very assumption stifles the wonder, dulls your perceptions of that person’s extraordinariness. ~Joanna Macy
We all want to be seen and appreciated, especially by our partners, especially when life as usual is no longer guaranteed. But the human condition is to habituate and forget, to take for granted, so that what is important becomes less visible. And if something is not seen it cannot be valued and appreciated.
Throughout the day couples will work alone together in their dyads creating space to see and be seen, to know and be known, to be appreciated, to honor each other’s otherness, and once again, to touch into the uniqueness of ‘we’.
This day-long workshop is for people who identify as a couple. No other requirements needed!
Short talks, guided meditations and exercises will support couples to do their work in the privacy of dyads. Sharing is optional. No one will be put on the spot.
Schedule (Eastern Time)*:
9 am -12 pm
2 pm - 5 pm
*Please plan to attend both sessions!
COST: $40 per person ($80/couple)
In order to keep pricing as low as possible, teacher fees are not included and are encouraged as “dana” (the ancient tradition of generous giving), as each participant is moved to do so at the end of the retreat. More information will be discussed at the event.
