About The Event
Pre-Election Mindful Detox:Â
A Mindful Breather - Releasing Tension, Replenishing the Heart
hosted by Barre Center for Buddhist Studies (BCBS)
Sunday, November 1, 2020
1:00-4:00 PM Eastern Time
It’s been a long and stressful year and the next few days are likely to be no different. Let’s use our practice to let go of some of the stress we’ve accumulated so far and make room for what’s to come. This is one function of mindfulness, that is to detox the organism.
This afternoon of practice will not emphasize deep states of calm or transformative insight. Instead, we‘ll keep it simple with short guided practices to release tension in the body, breath, heart-mind and replenish the heart with good food.
Cost: This online practice period is offered free of charge, and donations are gratefully accepted. Bill and Susan, who have been in residence at BCBS during the pandemic, have very generously directed that all dana go to BCBS to help sustain the center through the coronavirus shutdown.
Online Course: The BCBS intention is to build sangha and provide meaningful virtual interactions with each other and teachers in our online courses. When registering for an online course, please note that you should plan to commit to attending all scheduled sessions. The schedule of Zoom meetings for this course (shown in US Eastern Time) is as follows:
